Retroperspektywy 2012
International Theatre Festival Retroperspektywy 2012 organized by CHOREA Theatre and Art Factory in Lodz was a space for confrontations, independent and innovative theatre search, a platform for workshop meetings and an arena for discussions concerning the changes in theatre of the 21st century.
The second edition of the festival was largely connected to the Jewish tradition, culture and history. But unlike other festivals reaching for this subject, during Retroperspektywy we wanted to present theatrical and artistic events derived from various personal experiences of artists, who are using different aesthetics and work methods.
Personal experience and a way of formulating questions about our attitude towards Jewish tradition and its contemporary functioning were our main objective during the creation process of our Festival program.
The program of our Frestival incuded: performance 'TOV/Good', created by American choreographer Rosanna Gamson from Los Angeles, performance 'SZPERA 42' created by director Rithie Osterman from Tel Aviv, performance 'Księga Blasku' created by polish director Paweł Passini, performance 'Trip to Dakhar' created by Kasba Arghyba Theatre from India, performance 'Year 2012' created by artists from KORNIAG Theatre form Belarus and CHOREA Theatre, performance 'Men&Mahler' created by international group of artists form DNA Continuum Project and Granhoj Dans Company form Denmark, performance 'Bruno Shulz' directed by Konrad Dworakowski form Pinokio Theatre in Lodz, performance 'Re:akcja' created by Polish dance group Pracownia Fizyczna.
